Nowadays, if you don’t own all clad stainless pots and pans, you are losing money and time. It is practical and stylish at the same time. Stainless steel (18/10) cooking pots have become sort of a standard even for amateur cooks. All clad stainless steel sets are also hand polished and look nice in your kitchen. It is the best stainless steel cookware you will find anywhere when on budget. Cookware looks just so elegant with these finishing touches.

All clad cookware set

The best thing about this cookware, besides cooking delicious meals, is that you will look and feel professional but is also suitable for washing in the dishwasher and by hand. It will make no difference where you will use it: on induction, gas, electric, or any other stove. It will give you the best performance a relatively cheap cookware can.

Stainless Pots and Pans

All clad is a very well-known name both in-house and restaurant uses. Probably the best-selling Cookware right now. Many pro chefs worldwide use it today. Although there is always a chance you will not like it, so I must say this next paragraph.

Normal All clad sets are usually not much better than any other brand. BUT, they do have some special ones which are worth mentioning. I am buying only the set or individual pieces which have either aluminum or copper core. Not only are they better for cooking, but are also better looking than normal stainless steel stuff. They tend to get hot quickly and stay hot for longer periods saving your time and money.

Also, copper and aluminum cookware make the cooking surface more evenly distribute the heat, so you don’t have hot or cold spots in your pan or pot. Also, their response time to stove heat change is simply amazing.

Stainless Pots and Pans

When buying copper or aluminum cookware, make sure you know what you are doing. Choose only those that show you how thick the extra metal layer is, because some cookware has is all wrong, using 1/8″ layers which have almost no positive effects we were just discussing. Also, it makes a difference what kind of stainless steel is used in making stainless steel pots and pans. Make sure you buy cookware with at least 18/10 markings. 20/12 or 22/12 are even better.

So the bigger the number, you will get better the stainless steel cookware set. These numbers explain how much chromium (first number) and nickel (2nd number) are there in the piece you are buying. Chromium is what gives the steel its stainless properties.

However, more chromium added means steel will be tougher to form, and that is where nickel comes in handy because it is very easy to mold it the way you like. So more chromium means you will have better stainless steel pans or pots, and more nickel means that steel will be easier to form in the shape of pots and therefore better quality because the material will not have a small hole and will be very uniform throughout the whole cookware piece.

Getting The Best Induction Cookware Now

Just as there is a variety of available cookware in the market so do cooking hobs. Traditionally, we are accustomed to gas and electronic ranges. Gas ranges cook food by burning fuel thus creating a controlled flame while electricity creates thermal conduction that creates tremendous heat and passes it through the cast iron, aluminum, or stainless steel cookware. But there’s a brand new cooktop and it is called induction. With it comes induction cookware.

What is an induction cooktop? To explain it briefly and simply induction is the process of electromagnetic instead of flame or thermal conduction. It is a complex science to explain it here but to clear things up, it is very different from other cooktops and cookware should be induction compatible cookware otherwise you can never use it because to be compatible, cookware must have magnetic content such as cast iron cookware sets and stainless steel cookware set. However, not all cookware sets are induction cookware sets or induction compatible. Most glass and aluminum are not induction-ready cookware unless they have magnetic compounds in their bases.

How induction cookware works

So what is induction cookware exactly? Induction cookware sets are cookware that has a ferromagnetic surface, all cast iron is induction safe cookware. That is because it is attracted to magnets, and most stainless steel cookware sets are also induction cookware. There are a few exceptions to some models or brands so be careful in reading the label of your cookware.  The same thing is happening with hard anodized cookware sets. So far, iron cast cookware is the best induction cookware that you can have.

Induction Cookware Set

To look for the best induction cookware set, you can visit the internet for induction cookware set reviews there. You could search for popular induction cookware brands like the All Clad induction cookware, Calphalon induction cookware, Cuisinart cookware set, KitchenAid induction cookware, Rachael ray cookware set to name a few. The induction cookware set is nevertheless easy to find. Most cookware manufacturer these days design their product to cater to the needs of consumers who are using induction cooktops.

About induction cooking

Induction cooktops are great cooktops, it heats cookware faster than gas or electric which saves you time in cooking. If you are planning to use this kind of cooktop just make a simple test to know if your existing cookware would be induction compatible or not. To do this, place a magnet at the bottom of your cookware and see if it attracts the magnet. If there is a magnetic reaction or attraction, then your cookware is induction compatible.

However, if this does not happen do not get dismayed or disappointed in pursuing your plan to buy the cooktop because there is a remedy to it. To make cookware that is not induction compatible to be usable in induction hobs, you can purchase a cooking tool called induction disk. This disk will be placed on top of the induction cooktop and then place your copper, aluminum, glass, or any cookware that is not compatible with induction on top of the induction to make it usable for the induction cooktop.

New Titanium Cookware For The Best Food

Cookware materials range from stainless steel to glass.  Each metal has its character which makes one better than the other in different aspects.  Some of the most popular types of cookware are stainless steel cookware, copper cookware, and ceramic cookware.  One type of cookware that is less mainstream is titanium cookware, probably because it is very expensive.

Titanium cookware sets are of very high quality. Titanium is one of the sturdiest metals.  What’s more is that it does not weigh a lot, especially compared to other sturdy metals, like cast iron.  Although titanium cooking pans are just recently introduced, it is gaining market as there are many professionals and home cooks who are gearing towards titanium-made cookware.  Let’s discuss further why this is happening.

How To Buy Titanium Cookware?

When selecting cookware, the first to come to mind would probably be regular stainless steel cookware sets. That is because it is popular for its durability and easiness of use.  You don’t need to do any special cleaning, that is if the food does not stick onto the cookware.  Another that would come to mind would be non-stick cookware. It provides the convenience of not having food stuck on to the cookware while cooking.

It is easier to clean and food is healthier as you can only put a small amount of cooking oil to cook your meal.  However, special utensils and cleaning are required for nonstick cookware as the nonstick coating should not be scratched off.  Now, let’s consider the titanium cookware set.   It combines the strong points of stainless steel and nonstick cookware and takes away their weaknesses.  Titanium cookware is certainly durable, lightweight so it is easy to use, nonstick, and can withstand abrasive cleaning materials and utensils!  Is there anything else you can ask for?

Titanium Cookware Cooks Without Water

But there’s more!  Have you heard of waterless cookware?  Titanium cooking pots are waterless cookware.  Because of its superb heating capacity, you can cook food naturally without adding water or cooking oil as it will use the juice of the ingredients.  You would be able to cook healthier meals with nutrients intact.Titanium Cookwar Set

Another selling point of titanium cooking ware is that it does not react with your ingredients because it is nonporous.  This makes it safe that you eliminate the possibility of ingesting harmful metal materials and it does not alter the taste and flavor of your dishes.  Provided with a cover made of glass that can withstand high temperatures, this allows you to look at the dish you are preparing without taking off the cover.

Worth mentioning again is the weight of titanium cookware.  For its durability, you may think that it should be heavy like the copper pots and pans, but it is very light.  This is a big advantage to petite-sized cooks who may have a hard time with heavy cookware and convenient when transferring the cookware or bringing it along to cookouts.

Are All Features Positive?

The titanium cookware is also compatible with most cooktops, including induction cookware and it is safe to wash in automatic dishwashers.  This makes it suitable for our today’s busy lifestyle.

There are many brands to choose from if you are considering this type of cookware.  The best cookware brands include woll titanium cookware, all clad and Wolfgang puck cookware, among others.

How does titanium cookware compare to either copper or brass? They are also good and tested cookware materials. The experience would tell you that these materials run the risk of corroding. That either would make you buy a new one or risk your health with contaminants.

Having discussed the benefits and advantages of titanium cooking ware, it’s probably time you give it a try.  Investing in good cookware will give you a better cooking experience. and that is something you can pass on to the next generation.  You’d leave a legacy with your cooking!

Stainless Steel Pots – Are The New Materials Any Better?

In this review, we shall focus on stainless steel pots and pans.  Stainless steel cookware is a very popular type of cooking ware. Its toughness and easy maintenance are synonymous with good quality.  Stainless steel pans are user-friendly as it does not require special cleaning methods. They are safer to use as this material heats slowly allowing you to avoid getting burnt.  Stainless steel cookware sets are also aesthetically pleasing to look at. So they are not only functional as cookware but also sparkly decorations in your kitchen.

Of course, other types of cookware may have comparable performance as with stainless steel pots.  Other metals for a cookware material are brass, aluminum, or carbon steel.  Each metal has different strengths and weaknesses. So today more often than before, we sue to our advantage each metal’s properties while producing cookware.

Stainless Steel Pots vs Non-Stick Cookware

Non-stick cookware has also become popular.  This type of cookware has a non-stick covering which prevents food from sticking to the pan when cooking.  This makes cleaning the cookware easier. But the downside is you need to be careful not to scratch off the non-stick coating when you cook and clean.  You should, therefore, not use metal utensils when cooking and abrasive materials when cleaning.

Before deciding to finally buy a stainless steel cookware set, study first the factors you need to consider in cookware.  One of the important things to consider is thermal conduction.  Thermal conduction is the transfer of heat from the cookware to the food.  If your cookware has high thermal conductivity, you need less time to cook your food.  Stainless steel heats slowly and this may make you think that cooking with stainless steel is therefore no good.  However, most stainless steel pot and pan sets have aluminum or copper metal core which has good thermal conductivity, which solves the weakness of stainless steel.

Materials for pots and pans

Although a stainless steel pan is sturdy, pans made of other metals are also comparable, like cast iron.  These metals may withstand wear and tear better than cookware made of other types of metal.  Stainless steel metal is non-reactive so it is safe to cook acidic ingredients.  This is very much in contrast with aluminum metal which may seep aluminum into the food. That would make it unhealthy, especially when you consume aluminum-tainted food regularly.

Stainless Steel Pots SetAnother consideration in selecting cookware is the price.   You will use the best stainless steel cookware for a long time and even if you pay more money, it will be worth it.  If you buy cheap cookware, without carefully inspecting the quality, you might have to replace it every once in a while, making it more expensive.  The best way to choose is to find a mid-range priced cookware of good quality, especially if it is limited to home use.  Some of the expensive stainless steel cookware, like the all-clad stainless steel, are made for professional use.

A final word on Stainless Steel Pots and Pans

Stainless steel cookware is, undoubtedly, one of the best choices of cookware.  It is safe to use, easy to clean, durable and elegant to look at.  There may be a downside of stainless steel not being a good thermal conductor but it can be easily augmented with other metal materials.  The best stainless steel pots and pans usually have an aluminum or copper core infused into the cookware.

Compared to cookware made of other metals, I could say that stainless steel is the more superior choice.  If you search the market meticulously, I’m sure you would find reasonably priced stainless steel pots and pans.  Consider buying stainless steel cooking ware as an investment instead of an expense as, with proper use, these will surely last you a lifetime.
